About the place

White geometric architecture meets street skateboarding culture at the core of the historic Raval quarter.

The museum anchors modern artistic collections inside a stark white building designed by Richard Meier in El Raval. Outside the entrance, Plaça dels Àngels operates as a continuous meeting point for international skateboarders and street artists. Long-term residents navigate persistent foot traffic and active public gatherings right at their doorsteps.

Living nearby means balancing central urban access with relentless neighborhood noise and dense tourist crowds. Research visits require advance planning because archive consultations follow strict administrative scheduling rather than walk-in access.
