About the place

The interfaith complex brings distinct Abrahamic traditions together on Saadiyat Island across a shared communal plaza.

The complex stands on Saadiyat Island as an initiative for mutual tolerance, uniting St. Francis Church, Imam Al-Tayeb Mosque, and Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue within individual structures. Its design draws directly from the Document on Human Fraternity, endorsed jointly by Pope Francis for the Catholic Church and Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayeb for al-Azhar. Planners configured the individual sanctuaries around an open communal pavilion.
