About the place

The commercial skyscraper stands along Greenwich Street on the eastern side of the World Trade Center complex.

Richard Rogers and his firm Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners designed the office tower within the master plan conceived by Daniel Libeskind. Silverstein Properties manages the property under a ground lease with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The high-rise stands in the commercial eastern sector of the complex, deliberately separated from the public memorial grounds that occupy the western side.

Below the street, the base connects directly into the Westfield World Trade Center retail concourse and the surrounding rail network. Outside, Cortlandt Street functions as an open pedestrian walkway separating the neighboring office towers. Daily life for workers involves constant movement through underground passages and security turnstiles, keeping transit commutes completely enclosed during extreme weather.
