Friedrich August Stüler planned the hall in the shape of a Roman temple with an apse, and Johann Heinrich Strack completed the work. Builders chose iron and brick framing behind Nebra sandstone to reduce fire risk. A memorial to the Prussian king overlooks the entrance stairs.
