À propos du lieu

The basin forms the geographic spine of western Oregon, shaping its transport, trade, and settlement.

The river flows northward through a lowland basin situated between the Cascade Range and the Oregon Coast Range. It discharges into the Columbia River near Portland. The surrounding drainage basin holds the majority of the state population, including administrative and commercial centers that rely on the waterway for recreation and industry.
