About the place

The Dubai Fountain anchors Downtown Dubai with a choreographed water and light performance set across Burj Khalifa Lake.

WET Design created this choreographed fountain system on the artificial Burj Khalifa Lake in Downtown Dubai. The California team drew on their earlier work from the Las Vegas Bellagio installation to build the installation. Submerged jets shoot lake water high above the promenade, synchronized with classical compositions, contemporary Arabic tracks, and global musical selections.

Colored projectors and illumination arrays light each evening sequence across the central basin. The nightly performances draw continuous pedestrian traffic along the waterfront walkways outside the shopping mall. Long-term residents in adjacent residential towers manage around the regular sound echoes and crowded boardwalk paths during evening operating hours.
