About the place

Burj Al Alam remains an unbuilt commercial skyscraper concept originally planned for the Business Bay district.

Planners designed Burj Al Alam as a hyperboloid skyscraper intended for Business Bay. Styled to resemble a crystal flower, the proposal grew out of an earlier high-rise scheme slated for Dubai Marina. Fortune Group managed the commercial venture alongside sister developments across the emirate, including Fortune Bay and Fortune Tower.

Had construction finished as planned, the tower would have stood among the tallest edifices on earth. Long-term residents in Business Bay encounter the aftermath of paused mega-projects through vacant plots bordered by operational office hubs. Commuters across the surrounding blocks rely on vehicle arterials and highway connections rather than continuous pedestrian corridors between sites.
