À propos du lieu

East Village functions as a dense residential enclave with deep countercultural history.

Residential life centers on historic walk-up blocks housing tens of thousands of people within compact city avenues. Daily errands rarely require leaving immediate street corners, where laundromats, bodegas, and storefronts occupy the base of almost every brownstone building.

Tenants adjust quickly to older residential infrastructure and street-level noise that persists well into morning hours. Moving into pre-war walk-ups brings spatial compromises, yet puts residents within straightforward walking reach of multiple transit hubs across Lower Manhattan.

Noah's Ark 2

North America is an incredibly multinational region. If you look at the globe from above and wrap it in a grid of global connections, the USA would be the largest reference point, because the branches of this country lead to every corner of the Earth. It is incredibly interesting and impressive when, crossing the bridge between Brooklyn, the oldest district of New York, and Manhattan, you end up in Chinatown, which transitions into Little Italy, which in turn transitions into the East Village—a neighborhood where Ukrainians and many other affluent representatives of various races live. And this is just a small part of the metropolis, but that is not what this is about. Another component of the multifaceted success of the USA is its multi-level multi-brains. They say that America is a head, two, or three above others, and so on, but in reality, the States are higher by exactly the number of thinking nationalities on their territory, who are not bought from third-world countries, but simply well-paid. By thinking nationalities, I mean those who not only enjoy the benefits of modern society but also work to create, during the creation, and for the sake of creating these very benefits. This is not an ideal, but a firm and clear definition. I think there was some root cause that gave birth to the original idea of creating such a "Noah's Ark 2," on board of which are not rare animals, but people of different nationalities from all over the world, in order to later conquer the whole world. In that case, one can say: "The second Noah did better..."
