"Gazprom - dreams come true" ... in America © Everyone has dreams. And everyone who dreams of something looks forward to the moment when that dream becomes reality. It just so happened that my dreams started coming true nowhere else but in the USA. And now, for the details. I always wanted to ride a roller coaster. A real roller coaster. Where your breath is taken away, where it feels like you're about to fall out of your seat, where you get a view of the whole city at the highest point. And I did it! To actually end up in that seat, we had to stand in an hour-long line. During that time, we joked, recalled scenes from the movie "Final Destination," and were just plain bored. However, the wait was worth it. Those were three unforgettable minutes of screaming. Another long-held dream came true. I attended a football match. A cool one. Unforgettable. Between awesome teams. It was a game between PSG and Manchester United. (Who is it?) We covered the distance between Dells and Chicago, which felt like an eternity, almost missed the match, and met a cool family from Mexico, with whom we walked to the stadium. As soon as we went inside, we were literally swept up in an atmosphere of celebration and eternal fun. We didn't buy front-row tickets. Far from the front row. Like, really far from the front row, but even from there, we had a magnificent view of the field. We cheered when PSG scored, got upset when the Manchester players missed, and it didn't matter at all who won that day. The main thing was that we saw it with our own eyes. I love spicy food. And I was sure that someday, I would definitely try the spiciest sauce. It turned out that this also came true in the land of Franklin and Roosevelt. (Lucky man) Once, all the Dunkin' employees were invited to a Mexican restaurant called Jose’s. After agreeing on the day and time, they picked me up, and we headed to the restaurant. Upon arrival, the restaurant owner was pleasantly surprised by the number of guests (there were about 20 of us) and asked us to wait so he could combine tables and seat us all together. After an hour of waiting, we finally sat down, ordered food, and waited again. But this time, the wait turned out to be interesting. We noticed different sauces on the table. Having said that I had always dreamed of trying the spiciest sauce in the world, they didn't think twice before asking the waiter which of these sauces was the hottest. Pointing to a specific bottle, I immediately rushed to try it. And that was a big mistake. If Professor Emmett Brown could transport me back to that moment in his time machine, I would never say those words again. Nevertheless, I tried it. It was that awkward moment when you didn't intend to shed tears, but your body decides for you. It's impossible to describe the intensity of that sauce. It's like mixing the best action movies of the 90s together and serving them on a platter. (What are you talking about?) While I was writing about all this, I completely forgot that my most cherished dream had come true – to see America with my own eyes, to be in an American environment, to talk with Americans, to feel American freedom for myself, and finally, to understand the meaning of the American dream. To understand how much it differs from the America in movies or pictures. To find out why so many people want to come to this country so badly. Fortunately, I managed to see, be, talk, feel, understand, and learn. And following these desires, a new, hitherto unknown, and extremely exciting one appeared. The desire – to do it all over again.

Rain in England is an ocean suspended in the air... You slowly drown in it... And I drowned in England itself... And when it was time to go home, I just couldn't process it. :) I was flying home from Manchester. Early in the morning, after packing my things and heading to the station, I couldn't imagine what awaited me next. Arriving at the station, I found out that my train to Manchester had been cancelled. "Well... not a big deal," I thought, and started waiting for the next one. Then things got more interesting. Arriving at Manchester airport, I found out that my flight was also cancelled! And the next available flight was only the following day. It wasn't meant for me to return to Belarus. :) That's how fate gifted me one more day in England. And originally, Manchester wasn't even in my plans. Arriving at the hotel provided by the airline and dropping my things in the room, I went for a walk around Manchester. A lovely city. Unlike any I've seen before. Although the City Hall reminded me of Big Ben... Probably because of the clock :) The next day the plane took off on schedule, and I returned home. But England... England will always be in my heart!

...Although the weather was surprisingly sunny and warm all week that I spent in London. Walking around London is a special pleasure. Tower Bridge is the most famous bridge in London, being one of the city's symbols. Tower Bridge differs from all other London bridges and indeed all bridges over the Thames in the following way: it is the lowest bridge on the Thames and the only one of all the bridges that is a bascule bridge. The bridge got its name due to its proximity to the Tower of London: the northern end of the bridge is located near the southeast corner of the Tower. St. Paul's Cathedral is located at the highest point in London. This largest Anglican church in Europe is the seat of the Bishop of London. The cathedral's dome has become one of London's main attractions. Traditionally, St. Paul's is the burial place of the most famous citizens of Great Britain, including the architect Christopher Wren, who built this cathedral. There is no monument on his grave, only an inscription on the tombstone: "Reader, if you seek his monument, look around you." You don't have to have royal roots, but you always want to see a luxurious palace. Especially if it's Buckingham Palace in London! The palace is unique not only for its grandeur but also because it hosts official ceremonies and events of the Royal Family, and tourists come here for tours. Admission is almost free everywhere. According to the works of Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes and his friend Dr. Watson lived in an apartment at 221b Baker Street between 1881 and 1904. At the time these works were written, such an address did not exist in London. But later, when Baker Street was extended to the north, a house with that address appeared, where the Sherlock Holmes Museum is currently located. Having lived in London for a week, I still didn't manage to see all the sights of this city. Too many museums, too many places to visit, too little time. But my journey didn't end there. July ...the hottest time, without a doubt. Beyonce, Jay Z. For me, this couple is the gold standard of relationships and wonderful musicians. On July 7th, I was lucky enough to attend their concert in Baltimore, but let's take things in order! After my birthday, which went great, I didn't know what to do with myself or where to go with friends for a week, and then I saw online that they were organizing a US tour called "On the run". After Googling a bit more information, we didn't think twice and went to the student center that organized such trips, and "Hallelujah", a couple of days later we were sitting at the Beyonce, Jay Z concert at MTBankStadium, which holds over 70,000 spectators, and it was completely packed; I had never seen such excitement in my life. It was simply unreal: the show, the fans who danced to every song for two and a half hours. It felt like I was at the biggest party of my life, helicopters occasionally distracted my attention, twilight had already turned into night, but the concert was only gaining momentum. I was just happy that day, despite everything; in those hours, only one thing existed for me: just this concert. How I didn't want it to end. Waking up at 6 AM, I set my alarm for 5 minutes later again, then 5 minutes later again, and again. At 7, I jumped up and realized with a shout that I was almost late for the bus for the trip to Washington and the football match between Manchester United (MU) and Inter. My cell phone shows July 23rd, and I thought that I had been in the States for exactly 2 months, but had seen very little so far. But a couple of seconds later, this thought flew away somewhere and common sense prevailed; that's right, I went to brush my teeth and quickly get ready for the bus. Taking my bike, I pedaled with all my might, and only then did I really wake up. After going over another bump, I realized that I could easily ride without using my hands. Although a month and a half ago, after an incident, I was thinking about giving my bike to someone and walking. I made it on time, took my seat, and greeted my new acquaintances; by that time, I was already familiar with students from almost every country in Europe (well, if you asked everyone where they were from), who were also mostly going to the MU-Inter match rather than the Washington tour. After 3 hours of riding in sleep mode, we were already walking through museums that stretched along the main avenue of Washington. "A very beautiful and interesting city in terms of its architecture," I caught myself thinking for the umpteenth time, entering the Lincoln Memorial, having visited the height of the Monument, from which, by the way, you can see both the White House in all its glory and the Pentagon, just like in the movies; in the distance, I even made out Georgetown, or so it seemed to me. In any case, this city shows the fullness of the architectural and cultural heritage of the American people. Enriched and charged with positive energy for the whole day, closer to 6 PM our bus headed towards the stadium called "FedExField stadium". Rooney, Nani, De Gea, Chicharito, and even Vidic, who had already moved from MU to Inter by that time, I had only seen all these football players exclusively on TV, and now I am sitting in a stadium with an audience of 61,736 football fans just like me, and I am just happy and enjoying the game. Since this was a kind of non-decisive game, the teams didn't really go on the attack, they defended more, only Manchester's counter-attacks made the audience stand up. The game came to an end, and I thought that the 0-0 score was the end of the game, but after the final whistle, people didn't go home, they stayed in their seats. Well, I'm not really a fan of stewed potatoes. But Stas cooked some here—it was delicious and so authentically Russian. I'm nobody to him yet, but he tried so hard, with such heart. Stas is just hilarious. A fan of everything Russian like I've never seen before. Kirill is too, but I think he's mostly just tagging along with Stas. I met Anchen, Stas's wife, today. She's cool. Stas told me how he and Kirill went to a sports bar to watch the Zenit vs. Manchester match. They arrived wrapped in Russian flags, shouting, cheering. Just the two of them. The whole crowd there was rooting for Manchester, getting upset. But Stas and Kirill were happy, just the two of them. People there asked them, "What is this Zenit? What kind of team are you rooting for?" Many didn't know Zenit at all. "It's from St. Petersburg, Russia!" the guys answered proudly. They're so funny! They are good guys, Kirill and Stas.
