Yay! Yay! ) The Eastside is waiting for us... First stop, San Francisco! My friend and I arrived in San Francisco bright and early. As it turned out, our friends missed their flight, so we headed to the pre-booked hotel on our own. The hotel's location was simply gorgeous. My boyfriend and I dropped off our suitcase and briefcase and set off on our pre-planned route. First, we dove into the inner world of this famous city—we went to Fisherman's Wharf, a world of creativity where they draw the funniest and cheapest caricatures. Definitely treat yourself to one; it'll be nice to remember back home ;) Honestly, the waterfront is pretty standard, just like in other coastal cities, but there is one big BUT... The wind here is absolutely wild... And I'm serious!!! Definitely bring warm pullovers and sneakers with warm socks). After walking around, we grabbed some ice cream, and the smell from the bakery made us so homesick that we went back to the hotel to chat with our families on Skype. About an hour and a half later, we headed off to the Steamship Museum—I don't actually know its real name, but what we saw was mesmerizing: a huge steamship sitting on the water, with its (or maybe not its) massive spare parts displayed nearby. My boyfriend and I went inside, where there was an exhibition of vintage cars—everything in perfect condition... They were so beautiful, as if they had stepped right out of history books. Walking further, we ended up on the deck and took a lot of great photos, when suddenly, turning around, we saw sea lions near the boats—they are so funny! My boyfriend got very close to them, and suddenly the papa sea lion stood up, to which we reacted very quickly))) The panorama was mesmerizing.... After taking a bunch of photos, our hotel beckoned us back with its warmth. We decided to go to the supermarket to pick up groceries for our friend's birthday—we bought a bunch of sweets and flowers and went to prepare for our friends' arrival. In the evening, our globetrotting frogs appeared in all their glory. And our whole friendly group headed to an Italian restaurant for a light snack with cake :) Everything was very beautiful and delicious; after all, Americans know how to make sweets, and Italians know how to make pasta.

I started looking for a Job Offer immediately after signing up for the program. Not very actively, but I started. Then I got acquainted with the IEC forum and discussions in VK groups about the Work and Travel USA program and W&T Tyumen. For about a week, I read and processed all of this. After this information overload, it was easier. Some things gave me hope, some crushed my spirits. But it was still easier. I already understood what I needed to do and how. Then I received the JO form and a document called jobs2008 from the agency by email. This document also helped me. I advise everyone to read it. While browsing the internet, I found several templates for a Resume and CV. By combining what I thought were the best parts, I created my own resume and CV. And now, the search began. The main site for me was j1jobs.com. I read mixed reviews about it. Some said it was a waste of time, others said responses only come in February-March, and others said that was exactly where they found their JO. There was no consensus, so I decided I would figure it out through my own experience. I registered on the site and wrote my short CV. At first, I chose jobs that suited me and sent them my CV. Then I started looking by state and sent them out again. When I was searching for a job, I had absolutely no idea where I was going or where I wanted to go. Besides this site, I searched via Google and craigslist.org. I sent my resume (by the way, be sure to use a .com email address for job hunting). No responses came. They didn't come from anywhere. By mid-December, I had neither the mood nor the desire to look for a job myself. I decided that if I didn't find one by the end of December, I would sign up for the 'plus' option. I talked to my coordinator. It turned out that with the 'plus' program, they find you any job in any state. That didn't suit me. Then I decided that if I didn't find one myself, I would buy one on websites. Again, from all the forums, I understood that you can buy from j1jobs.info and jobofer.ru. They have some selection, and it costs $100-160 instead of $200. Then there was school, I was busy, and the job search question was left hanging. Then New Year and the long-awaited winter holidays. The search process started again. I opened j1jobs.com and sent my CV to everyone (absolutely everyone) in all states and for all positions. Responses started coming in. Some wrote: 'Thank you for your interest, but we are no longer hiring/you are not a fit/we need different dates/we need people who know Japanese, etc. Good luck with your job search and have a great time in the USA!'. Others asked me to send them a resume, photos, and my work. I am still talking to one person, but only for language practice. Because it's pure flirting and nothing more. The gentleman is quite well-known. Reviews about him are bad, I don't know if he is on a blacklist or not. His name is Steven Isman. In total, I sent about 60 emails just to addresses from my inbox and sent my CV to everyone on j1jobs.com. I waited for a response but didn't stop searching. I checked craigslist.org and other sites. I searched by city and state. By that time (early January), I had decided that I would go to the East Coast. I received my JO on January 19th. For the city of Myrtle Beach, SC, as a caricature artist. It is currently under verification. I have already learned a lot about this company and the job. I don't know if I will work there, but I already know that I will be able to find a job in this city in May. I wish you good luck in your search! Believe in your strengths, don't give up, and keep doing something! And don't forget to dream! Dreams come true, the main thing is to believe in it! And I have the Embassy left.
