关于此地
Public recreation anchors the neighborhood across extensive grounds designed for community athletics and social gatherings.
The South Park Commission established the grounds to bring dedicated green space into crowded South Side working districts. Planners designed the layout in-house while incorporating landscape traditions established by the Olmsted Brothers and D. H. Burnham and Company. Wide walking paths and open ballfields separate athletic zones from the surrounding residential streets.

The classical Beaux-Arts fieldhouse forms the operational core of the park throughout the winter. Inside, community meeting rooms and indoor gymnasiums sit beneath a preserved mural series titled An Allegory of Recreation. Outdoor tennis courts, a baseball field, and an open swimming pool handle neighborhood athletics during the warmer months.
