关于此地
Jaipur House holds the national modern art collection inside a former royal residence.
The institution began after proposals by artist societies and state cultural conferences, opening under the Ministry of Culture with German art historian Hermann Goetz serving as curator. The galleries occupy a butterfly-shaped palace crowned with a central dome, designed by Arthur Blomfield within the hexagon around India Gate. Displays feature modern Indian painting, sculpture, and graphic arts.

Permanent holdings feature works by Amrita Sher-Gil, Raja Ravi Varma, Jamini Roy, and Rabindranath Tagore, alongside foreign painters including Nicholas Roerich. Long-term researchers rely on the on-site art reference library, documentation centre, and restoration workshops. Strict security cordons in this administrative district affect daily entry routes, requiring visitors to account for pedestrian checkpoints.
