Public Gardens, Hyderabad: 周边有什么、如何前往、何时最合适 · 2026年
Long-term residents rely on Bagh-e-Aam for morning walks alongside active political institutions, accepting traffic diversions whenever the State Legislative Assembly convenes.
Bagh-e-Aam remains the oldest civic park in the urban core, preserved amid state buildings.
Established during the Nizam rule under the Urdu name Bagh-e-Aam, the grounds represent the earliest public park developed in the city. The initial layout contained an expansive pond and broad perimeter, but successive infrastructure projects reduced the green surface. Ground was surrendered to build the nearby Hyderabad railway station, while the construction of Jubilee Hall later filled in sections of the water reservoir.

Subsequent building programmes installed the State Legislative Assembly, State Museum, Telugu University, and auditoriums such as Lalitha Kala Thoranam and Jawahar Bal Bhavan across the acreage. Official references switched to Public Gardens, and civic alterations continued when workers removed the long-standing lawn fountain for Telangana Formation Day festivities, leaving a compact park wrapped tightly around state organs.
