I decided to write this page to describe my life here in general, so I don't forget any moments) So, I'm living with my grandma. Even though she seemed sweet at first, it turned out that was just an impression. She's crazy) The very first morning I stayed with her, she knocked on my door while I was sleeping. And what do you think she wanted?? Just to say hi) Then she apologized and left. But she came back half an hour later and started cleaning the room, regardless of the fact that I was sleeping) Second morning - another knock on the door, same situation. On the 3rd day, the same thing. Is she planning to wake me up for the rest of my stay? The 3rd time, I didn't open it. And what do you think? She opened my door with her key, saw that I was sleeping, and left. I didn't get the point of that) Day 4. To avoid this knocking again, I hung a note on the door asking not to be woken up. It worked! But after that, the real fun began) Grandma started nagging me about not locking the door. About not washing the stove, plates, or the sink. Considering I might not have even used the plates or the stove that day)) I was shocked) Man, grandma turned out not to be sweet at all) I started looking for a 2nd job, but I haven't found anything decent yet. I went everywhere I could, leaving my contact details. A couple of places seemed interested, but there was no feedback.. Ugh, so sad, my dreams of a pile of money have collapsed) My location here isn't exactly a resort, they don't need summer workers. And when they find out I'm only here for the summer, they often refuse. Well, what can you do, I'll ask for more hours at my current job to earn more money) I ride my bike to work. Sometimes, when possible, Veronika gives me a ride. Actually, Veronika does so much for me. The image of Russians in America didn't hold up) She's just an amazing person, she loves being needed by people. At first, I was a bit afraid of her, but in the end, I realized she's a good person after all) She feeds me, drives me to work and back, and helps with everything. Either I'm lucky with good people here, or everyone here is really that nice) Damn, when I was coming here, I dreamed of an independent life... In the end, I'm just wandering from one pair of caring hands to another.. First Gregory, then Richard, now Veronika... I never cease to be amazed at my luck here) At work, I also have extremely sweet people working with me) Some ask me to teach them Russian and ask for specific phrases. Some even want to learn how to swear) Well, I'm not tired of teaching them yet) One girl at work even learned words like 'Privet' (Hi) and 'Poka' (Bye), and now she greets me and says goodbye in Russian every time) It's cute)) That's how I live. Sometimes I fall asleep, lying in bed, free from the daily hustle. And I start to realize that here I am, in America right now. My brain draws a map of the world - Moscow and where I am now. And I still can't believe that I'm really here. That I'm so far from home. And I'm practically alone here. Living my own life, speaking English every day. It has become somewhat habitual for me here already. I feel my heartbeat. As if confirming that I am really living a real life now, and I'm not dreaming. But I still can't fully believe what's happening. I wonder if I'll ever start to fully realize what's happening to me here over time?)

Long Island: çevrede ne var, nasıl gidilir ve ne zaman · 2026
You balance daily life along the branches of the Long Island Rail Road, trading high housing costs and crowded expressways for quick coastal access and direct links into Manhattan.
Long Island pairs dense suburban rail corridors with working shorelines and agricultural flats.
The island holds North America's busiest commuter railroad system, connecting quiet residential hamlets to Manhattan terminals day and night. Daily life hinges on proximity to these train stations, as arterial roads like the Long Island Expressway experience severe traffic slowdowns during peak travel hours throughout the workweek.

Beyond the suburban sprawl lies a substantial food and maritime economy. Coastal docks at Montauk and Huntington keep commercial fishing active, while vineyards dominate the North Fork alongside long-running duck farms. Local dining centres around fresh harvests of Blue Point oysters, bay clams, and regional estate wines.
Major scientific institutions anchor the local job market alongside commuter transit into New York City. The territory hosts Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for genetics research. Extensive aerospace heritage has shifted toward broad corporate research parks and specialized marine technology.
