Patiesību sakot, es neplānoju apmeklēt šo pilsētu, bet šķērsot visu Ameriku no austrumiem uz rietumiem bez apstāšanās būtu vienkārši neiespējami. Mēs ieradāmies agri no rīta un vispirms skrējām uz tualeti nomazgāties.. Lai gan "nomazgāties" ir skaļi teikts! Ja izdodas iztīrīt zobus un izmazgāt galvu – tā jau ir laime. Jā, jā, neviens nepārklausījās, es teicu izmazgāt galvu.. Mazgāt galvu izlietnē un pēc tam žāvēt zem roku žāvētāja – nav pati jautrākā nodarbe, bet mums vienkārši nebija izvēles. Tomēr tās ir tikai sīkas neērtības. Pilsēta mums īpaši nepatika, mēs tikām līdz galvenajam apskates objektam – Gateway Arch – tā ir milzīga arka Misisipi krastā, kas simbolizē vārtus uz Rietumiem. Nedaudz pastaigājām pa parkiem, nofotografējām slaveno Route 66 un atkal iekāpām autobusā. Tādējādi St. Louis mēs pavadījām ne vairāk kā 6-7 stundas.
