3 dienas autobusā... kā tas bija...

30. jūnija rītā mēs piecēlāmies ap 10:00 un devāmies tieši uz Port Authority. Tur atradām kaut kādu lielveikalu, nopirkām cepumus un minerālūdeni, jo viņu pārējā pārtika mūsos īpašu uzticību neviesa) Mums bija jāizbrauc plkst. 15:00, tāpēc laika bija daudz, bet darīt nebija ko, turklāt vēl ar bagāžu rokās. Par spīti visam, tur nebija ne soliņu, ne krēslu... tiesa, amerikāņi par to īpaši nesatraucas, viņi var sēdēt jebkur: uz kāpnēm, zālājā un pat uz grīdas! Nogurusi Aseka nolēma arī nesatraukties un iekārtojās uz grīdas pie rozetes, lai uzlādētu telefonu. Sākumā es mazliet kautrējos, bet pēc tam pati apsēdos viņai blakus... nu, bija jāpierod pie amerikāņu dzīves) Ap 14:20 mēs devāmies meklēt mūsu gate (vārtus, aiz kuriem stāvēja mums vajadzīgais autobuss). 14:40 sākās iekāpšana autobusā. Nu, ko lai saka, parasti autobusi... tikai kondicionieru radītais aukstums bija nereāls. Dīvaini tie amerikāņi, viņiem labāk, lai ir auksti, nekā karsti. Labi, ka biju iepriekš dzirdējusi par šādiem „klimatiskajiem apstākļiem” autobusā, tāpēc uzvilku sev virsū kaudzi drēbju un piespiedu arī Aselju to darīt. Mūsu pirmais galamērķis bija Baltimor... pēc tam Rs Midway, Pittsburg, Columbus, Dayton Trot, Indianapolis, Garlingston, Burlington, Des Moines, Blumington, Omaha, Cheyenne, Lexington, Brush, Casper, Lovell un vēl kaudze pilsētiņu, caur kurām mēs braucām. Gandrīz katrā no šīm pilsētām mums nācās pārsēsties citos autobusos. Protams, pavadīt 3 dienas autobusā nav viegli, bet es bez vilcināšanās to atkārtotu vēlreiz! Jo brauciena laikā es redzēju tik daudz jauku pilsētiņu, ēku... principā mēs izbraucām cauri pusei Amerikas! Visas šīs 3 dienas mēs pārtikām no cepumiem, jo mūsu organisms vienkārši noraidīja šo mākslīgo amerikāņu pārtiku. Autobusos un pašās stacijās mēs redzējām ļoti daudz dīvainu cilvēku (ticiet man, pie mums jūs ko tādu neredzēsiet). Visvairāk mani smīdināja tas, kā daudzi puiši (īpaši afroamerikāņi) izvēlas valkāt bikses tā, ka puse viņu pēcpuses ir redzama (protams, peldbiksēs)) Tāpat pa ceļam mēs iepazināmies ar diviem jaukiem amerikāņiem ap 35 gadiem, no kuriem viens man piedāvāja iedzert (droši vien, lai labāk gulētos)) Un jau tuvojoties Vaiomingai, mēs iepazināmies ar kādu burvīgu spāni, kurš iemācīja man dažas frāzes savā valodā... Par manu lielu vilšanos, viņš devās uz Montānu (štats, kas atrodas nedaudz tālāk par Vaiomingu). Mūsu pēdējā pietura pirms Cody bija Lovell pilsēta. Tur mūs jau savāca mazs autobusiņš... tas, ka no pasažieriem bijām tikai es un Aseka, godīgi sakot, mani mazliet satrauca... manā galvā griezās tikai viena doma: „Dievs, uz kādu bedri es mūs vedinu! Aselja mani nogalinās!”
