New Arbat Avenue cuts a modern arterial corridor straight through historic urban fabric.

New Arbat Avenue functions as a wide transit artery running west from Arbatskaya Square on the Boulevard Ring toward Novoarbatsky Bridge. Planners carved the broad alignment directly through the pre-existing grid of the historic Arbat District, introducing high-rise towers that permanently shifted the architectural scale.
