San Moisè stands as a Roman Catholic parish church displaying heavy Baroque architecture in central Venice.

The building takes its dedication from Moses because historical Venetian tradition, influenced by Byzantine customs, treated Old Testament prophets as canonized saints. The dedication also commemorates the aristocrat Moisè Venier, who funded an early reconstruction of the structure. Sculpted Baroque masonry covers the facade, marking a sharp architectural departure from older Byzantine structures across the historic city.
