A monumental fountain anchors Piazza della Repubblica on the Viminal Hill through bronze mythological figures and central water jets.

The stone basin marks the grand terminus of Via Nazionale and showcases fresh water supplied by the restored ancient Aqua Marcia aqueduct commissioned under Pope Pius. Architect Alessandro Guerrieri designed the circular structure to replace an earlier provisional outlet, originally furnishing the outer rim with sculpted plaster lions.
