The memorial stands at the base of Petřín hill along Újezd street in Malá Strana. A sequence of bronze human sculptures descends the concrete stairway, depicting progressive physical decay and missing limbs. The installation commemorates Czechoslovak citizens who suffered persecution, imprisonment, and execution under totalitarian rule.
