It's impossible to be brief! So, this past summer, brevity was definitely not my sister!

The cold winter arrived too quickly, but memories of the best summer in my 21 years still warm my soul and heart! Moscow – London – New York. 15 hours of travel behind me, time to rest. By a happy coincidence, I have very old and kind acquaintances living in New York, and since my work hadn't started yet, I was able to dedicate two weeks to this city. I stocked up on the best guidebook, a map of Manhattan, and a subway map that kept 'hugging' me in the wind because it was just so huge. Without internet or my usual navigator, I grabbed my backpack and walked the streets of this city. It was a new experience for me, traveling alone—so unusual, but there's something to it. I was a real tourist. $1 pizza for the sake of saving money, using my ISIC wherever possible, but I couldn't deny myself the sightseeing. I walked everywhere I could. Central Park, the streets of Manhattan and all its diverse neighborhoods, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Aquarium, the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), Rockefeller Center, the Flatiron Building, Times Square, 5th Avenue, Broadway... And much more, I wouldn't have enough space to describe it all. Well, it's a giant city with its own rhythm, not always pleasant-smelling streets, but NY is still something special; I have a peculiar love for it! Next was the long journey to the state of Maine. That's where work began (I worked as a waitress in a restaurant at a hotel), before which I spent 4 days looking for housing... (I looked at a lot, but I found excellent housing, which I'm incredibly happy about). And this state became the real America for me. In my town, Boothbay Harbor, there is its own rhythm and its own life: small houses, dogs, a friendly, quiet tourist town headed by lobsters—they are everywhere, on all the souvenirs, in the water, and in the restaurant. And everyone is happy to come there to go yachting and fishing. It's a paradise, a paradise for retirees. But I really liked it there; a beautiful, clean, kind state. The people there have boundless souls; they are like one big family. Nothing bad ever happens there, and everyone always helps each other. I am glad for the time I spent there...
