Houston, Texas A városnézés mellett internetre is szükségem volt, hogy nyomon követhessem a Hurricane Ike-ot, mivel New Orleansba tartok =/ Találtam egy könyvtárat, nagyon rendben volt, két órát ültem ott rendes internettel, még le is fotóztam =) A belváros is tetszett – a felhőkarcolók olyanok, mintha 3D szerkesztőben rajzolták volna őket, kékesek, valószerűtlenek. A villamosok menők, mintha a jövőből jöttek volna =) Csak a szökőkutakkal és egyéb vizes szórakozásokkal van bajuk a houstoniaknak, a síneken valami hülyeséget csináltak, a központi parkban meg klórszag van, és minden csupa hab. A hurrikánnal minden rendben, úgy számolják, hogy négy nap múlva lesz Houston/New Orleans környékén, én pedig 4 nap múlva már Floridában leszek, ahonnan addigra elvonul a veszély. Minden tetszik, veszek egy 3 napos buszjegyet (a 12:20-as már teltházas) New Orleansba. Meglepő, hogy csak 4 ember van rajta =) Az utazás iszonyú kellemes, a hálózsákomban elterültem négy ülésen.. =) Kánaán =D Útközben időnként elszundikálva észreveszem, hogy elkezdődtek a mocsarak, hasonlít a mi szokásos vegyes erdőinkre, csak itt, ahogy mondják, krokodilok is vannak =) Abban a csöves faluban, ahol naplemente előtt megálltunk, egy helyi zsaru azt mondta, hogy a híd alatt egy 14 lábas aligátor él =) Lefotóztam a hidat, de az aligátor csak éjszaka jön haza... PS Indulás előtt azzal ijesztgettek, hogy a buszokon állandóan elmebetegek és bűnözők utaznak. Ma az egyik megállóban felszállt egy csávó, aki végigröhögte az utat az ülés alatt, meg egy srác fehér egyenruhában, a csuklóján és a bokáján jeladókkal. Az egyik megállóban felszálltak, a következőn leszálltak. Először láttam ilyet. És utoljára.

Сегодня мы должны были бродить по улочкам Нового Орлеана, но guess what, мы все еще в Далласе. А все почему? Начну с самого начала. Нора оказалась очень приветливой, энергичной и интересной личностью. Живет в тихом райончике недалеко от озера. У нее есть две собаки – мальчик Дерби и девочка Мэйбл, которых мы сначала побаивались. Нора – заядлая путешественница. Она была в Мексике, Италии, Китае, Франции. Собирается посетить Аргентину и другие страны. В свободное время посещает Буддийский храм, занятия йоги, скалолазание и занимается каякингом. А также играет на гитаре и любит смотреть телепередачи про путешествия. Слушает блюз и кантри. Вот такое мини-досье. Всего за несколько дней она показала нам весь Даллас! Мы и в настоящих американских закусочных побывали, и послушали песнопения буддийских монахов, и в кино ходили, и музеи не обошли стороной! Выучили несколько слов по-тайски. Например, приветствие «саватика». И тайской еды отведали. Ездили к озеру, фотографировали. Видели дом Джорджа Буша. По крайней мере, так говорят местные жители, но никто его до сих пор там не видел. Сначала мы боялись ехать к озеру из-за комаров – переносчиков смертельного вируса. Мы понадевали на себя толстовки, кеды и джинсы. Все у нас спрашивают: откуда вы? А мы: из Флориды – солнечного штата. А теперь о самом главном: Линкин Парк были AWESOME. Да, мы были на их концерте! Честер в нескольких метрах поет, кричит! Песни были и новые, и старые, чего мы совсем не могли предположить. Все подпевают, а мы громче! Craaaaaaaaaaaawling iiiiiiiiiiiin my skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin! These wooooooooooooooooounds, they wiiiiiiiil not heeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaal!!!!!!!! Фотографии получились неплохие, и видео тоже. Раньше мы не могли и представить, что попадем на концерт Линков! Офигительно! Столько положительных эмоций! Живой звук! Отожгли! Рок он! Преисполненные светлых надежд, заряженные положительными эмоциями, мы с Норой поехали на станцию Грэйхаунда. У нас были билеты на 3 часа ночи. Тепло попрощавшись с нашей новой техасской подругой, мы перекусили и собрались регистрировать чемодан. Как вдруг обнаружилось, что наш автобус в Новый Орлеан отменен! Шок. Причиной стал надвигающийся ураган Isaac. Пришлось остаться у Норы еще на одну ночь. Надеемся выехать следующим автобусом.
