Annapolis

A következő város Annapolis. Ez is egy tengerparti város. A rakpart közelében nagy hajós kirándulásokat szerveznek. A hajón utazva a város számos látnivalóját megtekintheted. Baltimore-hoz képest ez a város nagyon nyugodt, kicsi, nincsenek benne olyan magas épületek, mint Baltimore-ban. A város alacsony épületekből áll, nagyon kedves. A rakpart közelében egy érdekes és szép park található. Magam sem számítottam rá, de találkoztam ott egy férfival, aki 20 évvel ezelőtt szolgált nálunk az orosz hadseregben, és bár most már nincs kivel oroszul beszélnie, még mindig elég jól emlékszik az orosz nyelvre, és egyszerűen el van ragadtatva Oroszországtól. Ugyanott találkoztam egy nővel is, aki még sosem járt Oroszországban, de az egyik egyetemen orosz nyelvet tanít. Nagyon érdekes beszélgetés alakult ki hármunk között. Ablakok nélkül, ajtók nélkül, tele szobányi emberrel... Azok a helyek, ahol nyáron laktam, külön figyelmet érdemelnek. Először is, az etióp-orosz közösség a menedzserünk házában; másodszor, a pince, amit mindenki szeretettel csak Moszkvának csúfolt az állandó hideg és sötétség miatt. A National Mall padjai (nagyon kényelmesek, meg kell hagyni) és az állandó véletlenszerű ottalvások Washingtonban nem számítanak. Róluk majd később ;) Az első hónap olyan volt, mint egy álom, mivel a menedzserünk egy világszínvonalú embernek bizonyult, befogadott minket az otthonába, és úgy kényeztetett minket, mint a saját gyerekeit. És öten voltunk, szóval sosem volt unalmas. Etióp és orosz bulik, filmnézés sörrel, hülyeségekről való csevegés és gyakori levélírás haza – röviden, egyfajta sablon, ami alapján a Work and Travel résztvevőinek többsége a nyári forgatókönyvét alakítja. Sajnos, vagy talán szerencsére, ez gyorsan véget ért, és július elején hárman átköltöztünk arab ismerősökhöz. Őszintén szólva, a meglepetést, amit a szoba látványa okozott, amiben élnünk kellett, szavakkal nem lehet leírni. Ebben a kis lyukban nemhogy bútor nem volt, de még ablakok sem! Ráadásul a pincében szörnyű hideg volt (a légkondicionáló természetesen teljes teljesítményen ment...). És most képzeljétek el, milyen nehéz volt reggelente felkelnünk, amikor kint sötét és hideg van, egyszerűen borzalmas!! Eleinte még feljártunk az emeletre, hogy beszélgessünk ennek a jordániai családnak a többi tagjával; három teljes napig tanultam meg mind a tizenegy ember nevét és a különböző arab üdvözléseket. De hamarosan teljesen meguntuk ugyanazokat az arcokat és a pince unalmas légkörét, és gyakran csak az ismerőseinknél maradtunk vendégségben. Hol Washingtonban, hol Annapolisban, hol Baltimore-ban... Röviden, szórakoztunk, ahogy tudtunk :)
