Besides those cities, I also visited Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Baltimore, and Denver. I will go through them quickly and share the most important things. If you are traveling to the West, do not buy a tour. If you go on your own: - you save money - you manage your own time; in my case, it was extremely limited. I had to spend less than a day in each city, which is very little for a big city - you don't have to adapt to anyone else and can create your own travel plan. If I were to go again, I would organize everything myself. It is better to spend your nerves now and then travel and enjoy yourself in peace. Los Angeles was one of the big cities. We didn't even cover 1/4 of it. The road takes up most of the time, so set aside as many hours as possible and have a blast. I am more than sure that there is plenty to see in Los Angeles. Las Vegas didn't capture my heart at all. For me, one day is more than enough for it. The main street, the "Strip," is the only thing worth looking at. Besides hotels and casinos, you won't see anything else. If you are a gambler, it will suit you because there are casinos at every step. And the main factor that pushed me away was the climate. In summer, it is sweltering heat, with temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. The only time you can walk around is at night. It seemed soulless to me; there is debauchery everywhere, and there are plenty of drunk men trying to find their prey. If you like that kind of atmosphere, then run to Las Vegas. There is one more place I haven't mentioned before. A place where you can experience an adrenaline rush: "Six Flags." Since I adore roller coasters and entertainment of that kind, I couldn't help but go there, otherwise, I would never have forgiven myself. Six Flags is a paradise for both adults and children. This amusement park is in many states of America. I went to the one closest to me. Believe me, you won't experience so many emotions at once anywhere else, so I highly recommend going and seeing it with your own eyes.

In two days, we visited almost all the interesting hotels in LAS VEGAS (except for the STRATOSPHERE - it wasn't on the main street and we didn't have the energy for it). To help you visualize Las Vegas, let me explain how the city is laid out. All the action is just ONE street about 9 km long; everything else is just residential houses (80% are cottages) where there's not even a hint of a party. So, it's realistic to walk it all yourself. It's best to take at least 2 days, because by the end, you're exhausted from the overload of emotions and start to burn out. We've put together a list of must-visit places and what's interesting there! 1. Wynn Hotel - an insanely beautiful lobby, and if you walk to the restaurant, there's a free water show. 2. The Venetian Hotel - a Venice-style hotel. There's even a canal inside where you can ride a gondola!! 3. The Mirage Hotel - a disco-style lobby 😍😍 4. Caesars Palace - oh, it's hard to miss. Maybe because of the Colosseum nearby or the Trevi Fountain? 5. Bellagio Hotel - every 15 minutes (less often during the day), you can watch the dancing fountains! It's a grand show :) 6. Paris Las Vegas Hotel - a huge Eiffel Tower, with French style inside. It's insanely realistic and captures the atmosphere of Europe 😃 7. New York New York Hotel - if you (like us) didn't manage to visit the Statue of Liberty or the Brooklyn Bridge - voilà, here you'll have that chance! And inside, a small replica of New York City awaits you ☺️ 8. MGM Grand Hotel - the largest casino in the world. You'll just get lost in there)) 9. Excalibur Hotel - just a castle. Not the kind you lock a door with, but a truly huge castle from Disney movies. 10. Luxor Hotel - a large pyramid with mummies inside and a sphinx outside. Statistically, this is the hotel where players who lose in the casino most often end their lives, so it's also a bit creepy. 11. Circus Circus Hotel (we actually stayed there) - a huge CIRCUS (both literally and figuratively). A cool water park during the day, an amusement park and free shows in the evening - everything for a great vacation 😉 Which hotel would you check into? 😃

Las Vegas! The city of casinos, the brightest nights, unforgettable experiences, and a place where everything is permitted🔥 There are no historical landmarks, ancient history, or anything of the sort here. Instead, you'll find the most luxurious, expensive, and interesting hotels in the world🔥 And entertainment for every taste, from amusement parks to ordering services directly to your room. After spending two days here, I want to note that for me, Las Vegas has become the most memorable city😍 Maybe it's because we got lost in our own hotel, which was the size of two shopping malls, or because the police were called on us at the casino, or perhaps because in Las Vegas I was able to visit several cities at once... I don't know, I can't single out one thing, but I want to recommend it to ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE (just make sure you are over 21, otherwise you'll only be able to look at the slot machines or break US laws)) And in Las Vegas specifically, I don't recommend skimping on accommodation - it plays an important role here, as all the fun starts in the evening, and you can't just hang out in a terrible hotel during the day. For example, we spent the whole day at the water park 😄 INTERESTING FACTS AND OBSERVATIONS about Las Vegas: 🌿hotel windows don't open so people don't jump after losing in the casino 🌿you can get married in 20 minutes; all you need is a passport and $65 (a divorce costs $450) 🌿Las Vegas is surrounded by nothing but desert 🌿from space, the city looks like the brightest spot on Earth 🌿in casinos, 90% of players are over 30 and 70% are women! 🌿by law, prostitution is illegal in the city itself, but in the state of Nevada... 🌿90% of the city's profit comes from the hotel business and casinos. And, by the way, Las Vegas is considered one of the most expensive cities in the USA 😉

Travels also greatly influenced our summer. I think there are few places where you can wake up and buy a ticket for the evening to Las Vegas or New York. A trip to the US capital, Washington, gave me the opportunity to get acquainted with American culture. We mainly visited museums and memorials. In Washington, I saw cherry blossoms, which I had dreamed of seeing in Japan. It was truly unexpected to see a cherry tree in Washington, so far from its homeland. Having learned the history, I found out that it was a gift from Japan as a sign of cooperation and friendship with America. After reading Theodore Dreiser's book "Sister Carrie," I wanted to visit Chicago and see the scenes that arose in my head while reading it. Visiting Millennium Park and "The Bean" was my first and unforgettable impression of Chicago. But what struck me most was the Art Institute of Chicago, which I highly recommend visiting for lovers of aesthetics and innovation. The museum is famous for its collection of Impressionists and American art. The museum is very large in size and extensive in its selection. Everyone can find something for themselves there. And of course, visit the Willis Tower — the second tallest building in the United States. When visiting, don't forget to book in advance or buy tickets for the 103rd floor. And there, through the transparent floors and walls, you will be able to see all the beauty of the city, and for "lovers" of heights, this will be a real test of courage. I had often heard about "Sin City," but I didn't expect to end up there so soon. Las Vegas is striking in its eccentricity and the number of casinos. Upon arrival, I was shocked that even at the airport, casinos are set up everywhere. And that in Las Vegas, the night seems brighter than the day. I saw the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and others in miniature. The famous Bellagio fountains, the Mirage volcano eruption - these shows are an indescribable spectacle. The city itself is located in the desert, and the cost of housing is very low compared to other states. This is mainly because all hotels have casinos, and the owners make money on the casinos, not on accommodation. So, feel free to go to Las Vegas and don't be afraid to spend a lot of money on housing. But make sure that you or your companions are 21 years old, as in many hotels you can only check in with a person who has reached this age. In addition, in a casino, you can never tell if it is day or night, and there are no time indicators. This is a policy so that people don't notice how much time they spend in the casino. I cannot accurately convey the whole palette of feelings that one experiences when seeing the Canyon. However, I definitely felt inspiration, a surge of strength, and pride for such beauty created by nature. At the Grand Canyon, we visited the "Sky Deck" - a transparent bridge that opens a view of the bottom of the canyon, and it creates the illusion that you might fall. This didn't impress us much; we had already had enough of the views we had seen. And we greedily absorbed them, as if trying to etch them into our memory forever. And so, the day arrived. San Francisco airport, we meet up, seeing a friend for the first time, and our friend was there to meet us too. We set off in search of our hotel, which was located in the city center, 10 minutes from the park near the Golden Gate. For three days, without feeling our feet, we walked up and down, waiting to see what the new day would bring; it is a magical, windy, mesmerizing city that sticks in your memory. The bus from San Francisco to Los Angeles greeted us with warm sun; about 7 hours on the road and the weather will pleasantly surprise you with hot, scorching sun. The hotel was in the center again—why I emphasize this is because it is very important to have convenient access to local attractions. We spent the first day at the famous Santa Monica Beach; we got sunburned, went crazy, and simply couldn't believe we were in Los Angeles, the City of Angels and the film industry. We spent the entire next day at Universal Studios; I feel like I made up for my whole childhood there, so many emotions... Ahhh... I would repeat a trip to this place a million and a million times! On the final third day in LA, we saw everything we could: the Walk of Fame, the Walt Disney Concert Hall, where we stumbled upon a Cadillac commercial shoot and 'borrowed' a real Harley Davidson from a police officer, who, with a smile and all his kindness, let us have a mini-photoshoot on his motorcycle. And then that evening arrived, the brightest of the trip; we went to the most cinematic beach in LA, Venice Beach. It was a long ride, about an hour and a half, and there was nothing to do on the bus, so we chatted with everyone around us. My longest conversation was with a pleasant man with whom we just talked about the city, the people, and America in general. I also told him quite a few interesting and even surprising things about Russia. At the end, a shocking piece of news awaited me: he was an actor and producer in one, who just rides the bus and is happy about it, happy to watch people, saying it helps with his work. An actor who took part in the filming of The Green Mile... And there IT was – the beach. Filming of everyone and everything, a bunch of cameras, surfers, skaters, an atmosphere worth a million... We just froze... Until the moment a wave covered all our things... We spent a long time happily cleaning them of sand... And satisfied, we headed to our next transfer: Los Angeles – Las Vegas. Where another three amazing days awaited us. Las Vegas turned out to be even hotter, but it greeted us with a pleasant rain, during which we were able to sleep a little in the morning; it was necessary for a new charge. Life begins there in the evening; naturally, we left some N-th amount of money in the slots and roulette. You can't leave without that. We went to the best show in the world, Le Reve The Dream; it was something else, I had tears of delight watching this show. And we spent the entire next day at the Grand Canyon; we were simply speechless... Dreams come true... That is how my summer went. And this is probably one-hundredth of what I want to say... I will remember this summer for a long time. We finished our last day in Las Vegas with shopping—well, how could we not, we are girls after all... And we flew off in different directions... We were all from different cities, but what we experienced will bind us forever... And we will definitely meet again!!!

So, after returning from the Canyon, we crashed. We didn't wake up until 11 a.m. the next day. It was the only time in the last few days that we actually got some decent sleep. The last, third day in Vegas. Tickets to New York (again via Minneapolis) were at 4 p.m. that same day. After waking up and grabbing a bite, we headed to the center of Vegas, to the famous Las Vegas Blvd. We got off the bus at the very beginning and walked the rest of the way. At first, there wasn't anything interesting—just dozens of little chapels where happy couples could get married in famous Vegas. Or, like Stu from "The Hangover," marry a hooker. Lena comes up with some crazy ideas: "Let's get married and get divorced right away!" Oh, by the way, the chapel where Stu got married was on our way. After having lunch at Burger King and spending some time online, we moved on. One of the first landmarks we encountered was the Stratosphere—a huge tower with an observation deck on top. And then it started: Circus Circus, Encore, Palazzo, Wynn, Venetian, The Mirage, Caesars Palace, Bellagio, the mini-Eiffel Tower, mini-New York. It was all cool. It felt like I was in GTA San Andreas. Painfully familiar places—ah, right, the fictional Las Venturas was copied from the real Las Vegas. It's just that during the day, it all looks like huge movie sets, not as impressive as at night. But still, it's impressive at times. Well, it was time to head to the airport. Las Vegas is cool. The Grand Canyon is even cooler. But despite the positive emotions, we were tired and already wanted to be in New York. That's where our Vegas trip ends: everything was deserted, stuffy, the air was melting—just as it should be.

As much as it was a pity to leave New York, further adventures awaited us, so we packed our bags and headed further into the state where we were to spend an entire summer – Virginia. Before the trip, all I knew about this state was that after the War of Independence, it was the main political center of the country and that the authors of the Constitution came from this state. Now, having returned to my homeland, I can safely say that, alas, this is still all I know about this state. With the exception of the names of new cities, my piggy bank of knowledge in this area has not been replenished. We worked and lived in the coastal town of Virginia Beach. Obviously, the city is mainly for tourists, so we worked in a hotel. It was hard. Very. But we managed, largely thanks to understanding managers and a simply wonderful team. We met a huge number of people from different corners of the earth; I will say right away that at the time of being in the USA, the most useful acquaintances are acquaintances with Americans. They will tell you where to find something, how to get there, and most often they will take you there themselves, and they also know how to have fun. Largely thanks to these acquaintances, work for all of us brought joy and was not something that had to be endured in order to have a good rest later. One way or another, at the end of the summer, it was very difficult to part with colleagues, neighbors, and friends, but we knew that an exciting journey awaited us ahead, which, like for many, began with Las Vegas. Now I might shock someone, and someone might want to argue with me, but for me, Las Vegas is the most boring city I have ever been to. Not only in the USA, but in the whole world. Las Vegas, to be honest, is one long street along which dozens of hotels, casinos, shops, and restaurants are located. And that's... it. Besides, it is incredibly hot here, exactly the degree of heat that is usually described with the words "the asphalt was melting." It is not surprising that we escaped from this city quite quickly. Of the parks we visited, I would like to mention the Grand Canyon and Sequoia National Park. To put it very briefly, the second one looks like a green version of the first. Although okay, I'm lying. These are amazing, completely different places with unique energy. The Grand Canyon cannot be accurately described, nor can its beauty be conveyed in a photo. When you stand at the top and look down with a sinking heart, an irresistible desire arises to soar upward like eagles soaring along the towering walls of the canyon, and fly around at least a small part, to feel and see what is available only to birds. After all, if I, standing right here on the edge, am so struck and fascinated by these views, what does an eagle feel? Sequoia National Park is diametrically opposite in every sense of the word. It is dense, green, it is not so hot here, and in general, with its coloring, it is much more familiar to the Russian eye. From one of the observation decks, an amazing view opens up of hills covered with trees reaching high into the sky. This whole place reminds me of scenes from old Jurassic Park movies; you keep expecting a Tyrannosaurus to growl somewhere, a Brachiosaurus to show its long neck, or a flock of Pterodactyls to fly by.

We were lucky that the accident didn't disrupt our plans too much – after all, every day was scheduled, and all our accommodation was booked. The only time we left finding a place to stay until the last minute was the day of the accident. The thing is, as avid campers, we couldn't resist spending the night right on the ocean shore. We bought tents, sleeping bags, a stove with gas canisters, utensils, food in advance... Camping romance, in a word. Breakfast at the campsite For those inspired, I'll clarify right away: in the USA, you can't just take a tent and set it up for the night in any random spot. Officially, all beaches have operating hours, and you either need to book a spot at a campsite or choose your location carefully if you don't want to talk to the police. We were lucky to find a fairly wild beach, but sleeping by the water turned out to be nerve-wracking. Who knows when the tide will reach the edge of the tent... Good morning, Pacific Ocean San Francisco greeted us with dampness and fog. The architecture of this city can hardly be called interesting, but the landscape... You can walk a lot here, but you need to be prepared for endless elevation changes. A solution could be the same car or a scooter – there are many rental points in the city, and you don't even need a driver's license to ride them. Typical San Francisco street Twin Peaks hills, cable cars, Ghirardelli ice cream, sea lions at Pier 39, and, of course, the legendary Golden Gate Bridge – in short, you definitely won't get bored here. I think it needs no introduction After San Francisco, we set off to conquer the national parks. First on the list were Yosemite and Sequoia National Park – we spent one night in each and hiked several trails. You can't just set up a tent in protected areas, and campsites need to be booked a month or two in advance, so plan your visit ahead of time. Regarding developed domestic tourism: not all public establishments in Moscow have such cool restrooms as the campsites do. Seriously. It's useless to talk about the beauty of nature – just come and admire it... Yosemite Valley is stunning with its colors The most powerful impression was the climb to Upper Yosemite Fall – I look at the photos and can't believe we made it up there. But don't repeat our mistake: don't go on trails in the evening. Two hours uphill without stopping ended not only with a stunning sunset at the top but also with a descent in absolute darkness. Think you can climb to the top... At the top of the mountain We must not forget that forest fires often occur, because of which the only route you need might be blocked. That's exactly how our journey from Yosemite to Sequoia Park increased from three hours to eight!.. It's better to talk to the rangers right before you leave; they are always aware of what's happening. In Sequoia, the routes aren't that long – you can see everything interesting in a couple of hours. Tired after the long road, we set off to the ancient trees the very next morning and didn't regret it: at 9 a.m., the sun is especially beautiful, the humid air is saturated with the smell of the forest, and there are quite a few tourists. It's unlikely you'll be able to climb a sequoia, but it was worth a try A favorite spot for tourists for photos Las Vegas is no longer in California – the road to it took us about 9 hours and was very exhausting. The city starts to impress long before it appears on the horizon, as it is located in an absolute desert. Typical Nevada landscapes The most famous street in Vegas, the Las Vegas Strip, attracts tourists from all over the world. Be sure to watch the fountain show in front of the Bellagio casino – I would call it one of the modern wonders of the world – and buy some chips at the establishment itself. You're unlikely to play big, but it's definitely worth bringing as a souvenir for friends.
