À propos du lieu

Zayed Sports City Stadium anchors the capital as a dedicated open-air arena for international athletics, football matches, and state ceremonies.

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan initiated the venue through the municipal planning department to establish an international athletics and football complex. Distinctive structural arches define the outer perimeter and appear on the national banknote and official venue emblem. The grass pitch sits beside an athletics apron, supported by satellite broadcast facilities, electronic irrigation systems, and perimeter access roads.

Subsequent overhauls upgraded the grounds for international tournaments, including modern team locker rooms, updated signage, and broadcast-quality floodlights installed by Populous and ISG. Spectators navigate tiered seating, hospitality suites, and the royal box, while outer plazas feature fountains, practice pitches, and ring-road links to the wider sports district.
