DAY 4 - TRAVELING AROUND THE USA

We spent most of the day on the road, but we did stop at an incredibly beautiful place (not counting food stops). We were driving from Los Angeles to San Francisco. ⠀ Even though it looks quite close on the map, the drive ended up taking us about 8 hours. ⠀ Contrary to my expectations, the climates of these two cities are very different. The temperature dropped from 32 to 21 degrees. Instead of a blue sky, endless clouds were drifting by, and we thought we wouldn't see clear weather at all. ⠀ On the way, we passed a wildly picturesque spot – 17-mile Drive. It is famous for being a scenic coastal road that runs along the Pacific Ocean, passing by famous golf courses and expensive houses in the towns of Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach, California. It is the first private (!) road in California. ⠀ the main scenic attraction of the road is the Lone Cypress, a salt-battered tree that is the official symbol of Pebble Beach and a frequent screensaver for TV broadcasts from this area. ⠀ Unfortunately, by that point, Matvey and I had already played games on our phone and drained the battery, so you'll have to take my word for it))

MIAMI, FLORIDA

MIAMI We saved Miami for the end of our program. While we visited New York and Boston in the middle of summer, we kept Miami for “dessert.” Miami means beaches, white sand, a tropical climate, a warm ocean, carefree relaxation, a “hot” Spanish mentality, and an atmosphere of a constant party. *TIP FOR TRAVELERS TO MIAMI: Just fly there and ENJOY!!;)))

Orlando

So, Orlando. A city of dreams or broken hopes? Everyone decides for themselves. One piece of advice: don't come here without a job offer! You'll waste a ton of time, money, and nerves. It's been written many times that getting into Disney and other parks is unrealistic. Personally, I only received an interview invitation after 3 months. Orlando is a squeaky-clean American city, famous for its parks: Disney World, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, and others. Although it's considered the most criminal city in Florida, there are many kind people here ready to help in a tough moment. Buildings in Orlando are very spread out, which means a decent amount of time is spent on the road. Climate – the heat is incredible. A steady 35 degrees Celsius. It takes a couple of minutes in the sun to be covered in sweat. Someone said that there are frequent tropical downpours here in the summer. Not really) Maybe they were there in previous years, but this summer they bypassed Orlando. Transport – it runs. Once every half hour. On weekends, once an hour. As a rule, buses in the city of Disney are used by Black people and Work and Travel students. I spent the first few days of my life in this city trying to get to the Social Security office, luckily it takes about 3 hours by bus from where I stayed. I managed to complete this task on the 3rd try)) The first time I went on a rented falling-apart bicycle. After riding for a couple of hours on the highway and losing my way, I decided that was enough for the first time. The procedure for applying for a Social Security number turned out to be simple. Anyone with at least basic knowledge of English will manage without problems. In an extreme case, you can always use your imagination and explain with gestures=)

America: UNTIL - one week left)))

1.The string of exams, pass/fail tests, term papers is almost behind. A plane taking off that makes your heart freeze, an immense metropolis with heavy air, huge waiting halls, terminals, a language barrier, a different time zone and climate zone, and so on and so forth - imagining all this, somehow there isn't much room left in my head for the basics of labor and environmental law, for which there's still an exam left to take..hah) 2.I, a person who has never flown on a plane, never gone higher than the 15th floor, a person who will fly over half of Russia, Europe, the Atlantic Ocean, the USA, half of the Pacific Ocean. Oh, three days in the sky) hahaha))) 3.My destination is Honolulu, the capital of the state of Hawaii. What comes to mind for you?)) mmm...Aloha, the Hilo dance, the seismic belt, volcanoes, flower garlands, surfing, the beach, Lilo and Stitch)aahhahaha) - that's how it is for me) 4.The big American dream - that's what I call my dream that's about to come true. I honestly never would have thought that it would just go ahead and come true like that. I always thought about it, but I never, desired it until one incident. When one winter evening, "strolling around the local airport", we happened to notice , that the big electronic clock showed "23:23" and decided to make a wish on that number. A year and then some passed...and...wishes come true!)) I really like making wishes on matching numbers, and, apparently, if you really want it, they will come true. )

America: T-minus one week)))

1. The series of exams, tests, and term papers is almost behind me. A taking-off plane that makes your heart stop, a vast metropolis with heavy air, huge waiting halls, terminals, a language barrier, a different time zone and climate, and so on and so forth - imagining all this, there's not much room left in my head for the basics of labor and environmental law, for which I still have an exam to take... hah) 2. I am a person who has never flown on a plane, never been higher than the 15th floor, a person who will fly across half of Russia, Europe, the Atlantic Ocean, the USA, and half of the Pacific Ocean. Oh, three days in the sky) hahaha))) 3. My destination is Honolulu, the capital of the state of Hawaii. What associations did you have?)) mmm... Aloha, hula dance, seismic belt, volcanoes, flower garlands, surfing, beach, Lilo & Stitch) ahahaha) - that's how it is for me personally) 4. The big American dream - that's what I call my dream, which is about to come true. Honestly, I never thought it would just come true like that. I always thought about it, but I never really wished for it until one incident. When one winter evening, while "strolling through the local airport," we accidentally noticed that the large electronic clock showed the time "23:23" and decided to make a wish on that number. More than a year has passed... and... wishes do come true!)) I really like making wishes on identical numbers, and, apparently, if you want it badly enough, they will come true. )
