À propos du lieu

Černín Palace stands as the largest baroque residential complex in Prague and functions as the Czech diplomatic headquarters.

Humprecht Jan Czernin, an imperial envoy representing the Habsburg crown in Venice and Rome, acquired garden grounds previously held by the debt-burdened House of Lobkowicz. Czernin hired the Swiss-Italian designer Francesco Caratti to draft the palace layout, while builders Gione Decapaoli and Abraham Leuthner directed construction.
