Local Latter-day Saints gather at the Perth Australia Temple for formal sacred ordinances that once demanded journeys across the continent.

State leadership, including the Governor and the Premier, welcomed the project in writing as a constructive community presence. Kenneth Johnson presided over the initial groundbreaking alongside assembled worshippers and civic representatives.

Following those ceremonies, everyday access closed to the wider community, reserving the building exclusively for adherents in good standing. Global health concerns later prompted a temporary closure during the coronavirus pandemic before normal operations resumed.
