Local Latter-day Saints gather at the Perth Australia Temple for formal sacred ordinances that once demanded journeys across the continent.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints established this operating temple to serve congregation members who previously journeyed across the continent to Sydney for sacred ordinances. State leadership, including the Governor and the Premier, welcomed the project in writing as a constructive community presence. Kenneth Johnson presided over the initial groundbreaking alongside assembled worshippers and civic representatives.
