Italian master Paolo della Stella drew the designs, while Giovanni Spatio managed the initial stone masonry. Neither builder survived to see the finished arcades, and the queen died before completion. The structure stands as an example of Italian Renaissance design outside the peninsula, surrounded by formal gravel paths.
