Long-term residents rely on the Palm Tran bus shuttle connecting directly to the West Palm Beach rail station to travel across the metropolitan corridor.
关于此地
Palm Beach International Airport connects coastal communities to interstate networks while preserving a distinct aviation heritage.
The airfield sits west of West Palm Beach and functions as the primary transit point for Palm Beach County. Coastal communities including Boca Raton, Wellington, and Jupiter depend on this hub for scheduled commercial flights. Direct road links via Southern Boulevard and Congress Avenue channel regional traffic into the terminal complex, while Palm Tran bus shuttles connect arriving passengers to commuter rail lines.

The site opened as Morrison Field before serving as an air staging hub for military transport across the Atlantic during wartime. Federal agencies later based heavy transport training wings and hurricane research operations on the runways. Frequent presidential visits by Air Force One during the administration of John F. Kennedy prompted county voters to expand the original grounds rather than relocate the terminal facilities.
