关于此地

La Masia functions as the youth development academy of FC Barcelona, providing sports instruction and housing for selected players.

Club official Jaume Amat Murtra proposed the youth setup to president Josep Lluís Núñez, placing Oriol Tort in charge of operations. After Camp Nou opened, the adjacent Can Planes farmhouse shifted from club headquarters into residential quarters for young players from beyond the city. Training activities subsequently moved to the modern Oriol Tort Education Center located within Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Recruits arrive from Catalonia, wider Spanish regions, and nations including Cameroon, Senegal, Brazil, and Argentina, living away from their families. While commentators have compared the facility to the fabled Ajax academy, pointing to graduates such as Lionel Messi and Gerard Piqué, day-to-day life remains austere. Most resident trainees fail to reach the senior team despite the Champions League titles won by alumni.
