Orange

At some point guys that I worked with saw me feeling lonely and told to find some kids to play with. They gave me an advice to check the place in the downtown. It was restaurant on the Shore road called La Orilla that means the shore on Spanish. It was the restaurant of Mediterranean cuisine that was opened this season by Alex and her brother Matt. They were inspired by their trip to Spain. There were a painted box with interlaced woman and men on it that symbolized the passion of saffron, dried stigmas of Crocus sativus that were used as spice and orange color from ancient times. I was given a choice of work that I want to take part in, like hosting, that was connected with talking to people passing through, were I could catch them and sun light by blowing bubbles. Hostess stand was in vegetative patterns painted with crayons, and ones I noticed a question written there, what is your favorite color? Than my colorful game got started. I wrote an answer: The color of the Rainbow. Than I was inspired by food, like watermelons homemade pickles, tomatoes, red onion and fig jam, and created flower arrangements with white roses stained by splashes of vinous color, maroon ranunculus and branches of red rennet apples, that I found in the Trellis garden. From that point I realized that the light from people that I work with illuminated stained glass of my life. Other opportunity of this job was working as a food runner, it was connected to kitchen, where people that were working are full of art that you can notice in details like marigold petals garnish and painting on plates. They were at the exact point of creation, mixing tastes and smells. The smart thinking move of organization the space of this restaurant was that to rich the rest room guests had to pass through kitchen, hanging out there gave an opportunity of dancing, sharing food experience and taking part in cooking process. This place was kids and dog friendly, so it was full of joy and laughing. One day working as hostess I was sitting on a bench making silver rolls, night darkness was illuminated by the soft twinkle from threads of electric lights that was twisted through trees, I felt that I am exactly were I want to be now. It was some kind of a great endless party, while you were taking part in something that made people happy, enjoying food, music and themselves. The last day I was staying in Ogunquit Alex picked me to Portland where her boyfriend gave me a piano lesson. This evening was full of white Russian and we cycled barefoot on the roads of night sleeping port city. Next morning Glen picked me to Boston where I had an appointment in MIT to talk about applying on IDM, after then I got to know what should I do about my further education.

Big Apple

New York - first impression - huge, beautiful, and a place where you can easily feel lonely... We immediately met up with our friends - and all together we went to look around - our friends were met by a good acquaintance - who offered to show us the very essence of the metropolis... He took us to a pier from which a view of New York opens up. Indeed, from this pier - a View with a capital V is shown.... A beautiful, calm place, a piece of the giant soul of the Big Apple... People here are so different that you involuntarily merge into the general flow of this life... We also ran into the local Chinatown - bought a bunch of souvenirs - honestly, it's like you've ended up in China.... The same hustle and bustle, the same chaos...)))) so don't lose your head ;). Then, having stopped by home, we left our bags and rushed for a walk - Times Square - hmm yes, even time moves differently here - or rather, it doesn't move - it flies.... So many different entertainments, rows of shops, crowds of people, huge billboards, stands, screens... You involuntarily understand why New York is called, along with London and Tokyo, the financial center of the world... New York knows how to effectively make your head spin... J. In the evening, my boyfriend and I went to Central Park, oh by the way - it's better to get a monthly metro card right away, even if you've come for 3 days... These will be the craziest days of your life :). So, Central Park - it's not quite an ordinary park - people gather here to really relax, and most importantly, to come together, to plunge into the atmosphere of the essence of the word "together" - they enjoy their favorite music, play their favorite melodies, skillfully dance to it... It's amazing how it - music - is able to unite people of different abilities, goals, nations, and cultures under its wing... There is also a view of night New York here... It is beautiful and full of its own habits, highlights, and moments... The next day we took a ferry to the Statue of Liberty... Mmm, well, the line there is of course huge, even like that, huuuuge J J J... so keep some time in reserve ;) and this excursion shouldn't be before flying home, 4 hours before departure - you simply won't make it. So, the Statue of Liberty - even though it's old, it means a lot to the American people.... First, they will give you headphones with players - so you can listen to its history... We fooled around a bit - listening to it in 10 international languages ;). To go up to the top, you need to register on the website!!! A view of this dizzying city also opens up here - the point is that here you can see a truly beautiful New York - its Downtown... Having checked this item off our "must-do" list, we went to do our last shopping in America... In general, we spent almost every penny))), but remained completely satisfied, like cats that have eaten their fill of sour cream ;). Then we got to the New York airport in a huge car - there was just a huge pile of suitcases J, we met a crowd of Kazakhs and with joint efforts overcame the last Rubicon of our trip))).

Eds B-Day!, California

Wow! So much stuff! I see Zhora is already grabbing his second plate at the table!!! Well, let him eat his fill today!!!))) It's so cool here! The music, so many people. I can't believe I'm actually here. I think we're lucky to be living with them. They're asking us to sing Happy Birthday!!!... We're singing!!! Someone is ahead of the beat!!! Oh well, we managed!!!! Now they're singing in Spanish, how great. And I'm watching this game they have. The birthday boy has to take a bite of the cake without using his hands. And everyone around has to try to shove his face into the cake during that time. Hahaha!!! So funny!!!! Nobody succeeded!!! You're quick, Edgar! Well, time to give the gift!!! What a scene we made!!! They gave us the microphone, we're congratulating him, everyone lined up around us and is watching. It's a bit awkward. Before giving the game, we say that we're giving him something that will remind him of us, Russians, and Russia. After all, the main character is Russian. Almost everyone starts shouting in unison: GTA4!!!!!! It's great when you make someone happy! The guys gave him their t-shirt, and he wore it all evening. How did they even guess the size!!!!)))) The dancing begins!!!! It reminds me of the movie "Dirty Dancing". I've really only seen this in movies. How they all dance! It's so wild!!!!)))) Favorite tunes by Kanye West and Chris Brown are playing. As for drinks, there's a choice: beer, naturally Mexican, and there's also Bud, tequila, and cocktails. Everyone stands in a circle and starts pushing one person out of the circle to the music, that person dances as coolly as possible, everyone claps, then the next person, and so on until the song ends. Very cool!!!!! Then they put on Mexican music. Tolik and I grabbed some cocktails, when suddenly Edgar runs up to me and starts begging me to dance with him to this music.)))) No... I don't know how... he begged for a long time... I didn't give in, then I thought, what if he gets offended... A minute later Joanna flies up to us and suggests dancing again. She grabs Tolik, Grinko grabs me, and we spin to the rhythms of the catchy melody. We're doing better because the guy is leading in this dance, and Grinko dances excellently. Tolya doesn't know how to dance, Joanna is showing him. AAAAA,,,,, how cool. Everyone around is looking at us!!!! Grinko spun me around!!! Wow!!!! The music ends! I liked it a lot! Slowly people start to leave, the police even showed up and asked us to keep it down. Tolik, Lesha, and Zhora have already gone to sleep. Maga and I are the most resilient, or rather the most "sit-arounders")))) we had almost no strength left to dance, so we were sitting and drinking beer))) Grinko sat down next to us, we start chatting, laughing)))) Mexican music again. He's looking at me... -what? why looking at me?))) -mmm... lets go!!! He literally grabs me and we start dancing again!!! I'm laughing!!!! Everyone is shouting something!!!! He takes my hand and presses it to his waist!!! Hahaha))) I'm spinning and twirling again!!! At the end of the dance, he dips me so low that I'm a couple of centimeters from the floor!!! He's something else!!!! Then the rest of us went to walk the others to their cars. Maga and I got to know the DJ a bit better. He knows absolutely nothing about Russian culture, he thinks we have only one university for the whole country, huge competition, and if you don't get in, life is over. And also that we have soldiers marching on the streets all the time. That's what they teach them in school!!! I will remember this day for the rest of my life!!! I don't think everyone gets to experience a party like this, with such people. Thanks to everyone who helped me go to America this summer!

Day...

Autumn can bring happiness too. And it did. I wake up, look out the window: clear sky, sun... A rarity for our city in October. I pad barefoot to the kitchen and smile... I know you're sleeping in the bedroom, that you're near, not just in my heart. I make coffee and marvel at the sunbeams. I hear you approach quietly and feel your strong embrace. And even if, leaving the building, we head in different directions. I walk, and a fresh gust of wind hits my face. I smile, hear the SMS melody, and know it's you. I'm sitting in class, looking out the window. It's so interesting how other people greet their morning. An autumn morning. And the sky is still just as clear. Birds fly high, and I think that people, sooner or later, all fly just as high, and some even higher... They fly with their souls. I walk home, listen to music, and try to dream again... But whether I'm growing up or becoming a realist... It doesn't work... And I start thinking too much and even feeling sad... Is it silly? I log into VK—you're online :) This is autumn...
