Про місце

RSC Olimpiyskiy remains an occupied athletic landmark cut off from international competition.

Regional Sports Complex Olimpiyskiy is a multi-purpose athletic venue within the city. Built as the centrepiece of the broader Olimpiyskiy sports grounds, the facility was designed for international track and field meets and top-tier association football fixtures. The property originally belonged directly to the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, functioning as a premier national athletic headquarters.

Wartime disruption altered the entire operation of the stadium complex. Russian forces occupied the venue alongside the neighbouring Donbas Arena during the outbreak of hostilities, forcing an abrupt transfer of site administration away from Ukrainian authorities. This ongoing military control ended sanctioned competitive league play and severed the grounds from the global sporting calendar.
