The Work and Travel program is an opportunity for students to travel, work, learn new things, visit popular places, and discover US culture over 3 months. There will be an interview with a US consular officer in March or May. During the interview, you must prove that you will return to Kazakhstan. Many students stay behind through this program. All you need to do is take a vacation in the US, having fully paid for the program. I will explain the main points: after paying for the program and the interview, to increase your chances of not being rejected, you need to learn English. Participation in the program is available to every student who has reached 18 years of age. This program is a great opportunity for me; thanks to this progress, I can fulfill my dream. I have always dreamed of becoming a professional boxer. America is the homeland of professional boxers. There are strong boxers, and professional boxing athletes can be found in the USA. I am learning new things and improving my English by participating in this process, which has a huge impact on my future career. Because I can learn a new type of profession there. For me, it is a victory if I start my own business in Kazakhstan. Thanks to this program, I am achieving great success. First, I am studying and improving my English. I will go to the USA, which is a great opportunity for me coming from a village. I worked hard, and then I became. Or I can learn one type of profession and open my own. I think that a new environment and a new culture change me into a new person. If I were the head of the student exchange center, I would offer many discounts to students in the program and organize various games. The cities I want to visit in the USA are New York and Los Angeles. When I was a 3rd-year student, I tried to apply for the program, but I couldn't pass because my English was poor and I was insecure. So now I am a 4th-year student at the Academy of Sport and Tourism. Now, this year, I have returned to the program. I think everything will be different this year. Let me tell you about my favorite boxer, Manny Pacquiao. Manny Pacquiao trained at the Wild Card Boxing Club. The legendary trainer Freddie Roach prepared and brought up many champions. Among them are Amir Khan, Bernard Hopkins, Miguel Cotto, Mickey Rourke, Oscar De La Hoya, Wladimir Klitschko, and Manny Pacquiao. A coach who prepared and developed professional boxing stars. The Work and Travel program is an opportunity for students to travel and work during their 3-month vacation, learn new things, see America, visit popular places, and get to know US culture. Participating in the program is an opportunity given to every student who has turned 18. This program is a huge opportunity for me; through it, I can achieve my dream. Gloucester - America's oldest seaport The city officially holds this title, which is the main draw for tourists. It's a typical representative of one-story America, yet it still has a fishing charm. Nowadays, fishing is gradually becoming a thing of the past. The most common fish in these parts is the striper. Very tasty. Peter earns a little money from fishing - he sells the fish at a special auction. But he says that almost all of it goes toward maintaining the boat. In the past, they used to catch tuna here - one fish could be worth up to $20,000!!!!! and you had to pull it in while strapped to a seat all day until it got tired. I highly recommend visiting for anyone who loves fishing. By the way, the movie "The Perfect Storm" is based on events that took place in the Gloucester area, and there are scenes filmed in this city. One of our co-workers told us that in the seventies, a Soviet merchant ship was arrested in Gloucester. It sat in the port for several months, and the CIA didn't allow the sailors to go ashore. He managed to pass them a few music tapes -) Sailing I went sailing on a boat with Gene. He lived with us at the campground. A great guy - reminds me of Robinson Crusoe. Gene studied nuclear physics at MIT but dropped out and has worked as a taxi driver in Boston his whole life. His boat is called "Doctor". He bought the boat and started scrubbing off the old name. The first 3 letters remained, he was too lazy to scrub further, and he added the first word that came to mind. We sailed first from Gloucester along the Little River to the ocean using the motor, and then we raised the sail and reached Newburyport. The weather, or rather the wind, was lucky - we managed to reach 9 mph. But the ocean let us down with the waves. Not this time, but in general. And Phil said, "you're just saying that." Well, what was I supposed to answer? I guess he really loves her. If I manage to visit America again, I will definitely stop by to visit him. Jerom - also about 40 years old. At first, I didn't like him. Then it turned out that I was wrong. A calm, intelligent person. He is writing a doctoral dissertation on ethics. He says he has very large debts due to tuition fees. There was an incident. Nikita asked him if it was true that McDonald's food in America is called "Monkey food."
