Surp Anna Church stands in central Yerevan as a cruciform sanctuary beside historic Katoghike Church.

The sanctuary occupies a plot in the Kentron district directly beside the older Katoghike Church. Designed by architect Vahagn Movsisyan, the structure follows a cruciform plan topped by a central dome and features a belfry over the main entrance. The complex includes the official Yerevan pontifical residence of the Catholicos to the west.

Catholicos Karekin blessed the ground and later consecrated the Armenian Apostolic church. Funding came from benefactors Hirair Hovnanian and his wife Anna, whose name the house of worship bears. State and municipal leaders joined the Brotherhood of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Supreme Spiritual Council for the dedication ceremonies.
