Standing on the site of the former Warsaw Ghetto, the POLIN Museum anchors the memory and cultural heritage of Polish Jews.

Designed by Finnish architects Rainer Mahlamäki and Ilmari Lahdelma, the institution stands in the Muranów district directly facing the Monument to the Warsaw Ghetto Heroes. The project emerged from a partnership combining the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland with the municipal council and national cultural authorities to establish a permanent memorial and research space on historic grounds.
