Jersey Airport: რა არის ირგვლივ, როგორ მივიდეთ და როდის · 2026

Jersey Airport operates as the island's primary civil airfield in Saint Peter, managing regional commercial traffic under strict runway limits.

Air travel originally relied on beach landings across Saint Aubin's Bay, where incoming tides controlled flight schedules and beachgoers crossed landing strips. The government constructed an inland aerodrome to eliminate tidal disruptions, adding paved taxiways and hangars that persisted through wartime occupation. These early layout decisions established fixed boundaries that continue to define modern airfield capacity.

Runway length remains the airfield's defining operational limit. Major carriers have cancelled routes because larger passenger jets cannot land on the tarmac strip. Physical runway headings required formal redesignation following natural shifts in magnetic poles. Commercial operations and harbour assets merged under Ports of Jersey, centralising island transport management under unified public oversight.

Island transport links converge outside the terminal arrivals concourse. Scheduled LibertyBus coaches provide frequent connections directly to Liberation Station, serving as the main transit corridor into Saint Helier. Ground facilities provide vehicle hire desks, taxi stands, and free bays for bicycles and motorcycles. Moving beyond the terminal requires navigating local road roundabouts that link directly into parish transit routes.
