The complex began as Sheikh Rashid Tower, an office high-rise designed by John R. Harris and Partners that Queen Elizabeth inaugurated. Subsequent expansions transformed the original tower into an extensive convention and exhibition centre. Air-conditioned concourses link the display halls to the Convention Tower and on-site hotels, allowing business attendees to move between conferences, meetings, and lodgings without going outdoors.
