À propos du lieu

Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium anchors the Mid-South Fairgrounds in Midtown Memphis as the primary venue for collegiate football.

The stadium opened on the Mid-South Fairgrounds as a dedicated memorial to local citizens who served in the First World War, the Second World War, and the Korean War. Built to provide a permanent home for the annual Liberty Bowl, the bowl features steep single-tier stands and compact sidelines that keep spectators close to Rex Dockery Field. The venue hosts the University of Memphis Tigers alongside the Southern Heritage Classic.

The surrounding fairgrounds once held the Mid-South Coliseum and Libertyland amusement park, though redevelopment replaced the amusement rides with indoor sports facilities and the Tiger Lane tailgating park. Title sponsorship renamed the property for Simmons Bank, and municipal authorities transferred facility ownership directly to the University of Memphis to anchor extensive renovations across the grandstands.
