The facility sits in the municipality of Uccle within the Brussels capital area. Swimmers and scuba divers encounter fresh water treated entirely without chlorine, creating calm indoor conditions for breathing practice and buoyancy work. Long-term trainees avoid the eye irritation and chemical fumes typical of standard public tanks.

Guinness recognized the site as the deepest indoor swimming pool on earth before an Italian facility claimed the title. That newer competitor, The Deep Joy at Hotel Terme Millepini in Montegrotto Terme, took the global record. Nemo continues serving technical divers who need deep submergence without maritime weather delays.
