Sobre el lugar

A commercial high-rise that supplies utilities across Nishi-Shinjuku.

Architect Kenzo Tange designed Shinjuku Park Tower on ground that once held a decommissioned gas storage facility. Tokyo Gas Urban Development owns and oversees the property, maintaining its standing among the tallest towers across Shinjuku. The complex functions primarily for corporate tenants and hotel guests, meaning day-to-day activity centers on private office floors and professional services rather than public sightseeing.

Beneath the office levels, Tokyo Gas operates an on-site regional cooling plant that supplies heating and cooling across the Nishi-Shinjuku skyscraper quarter. The plant generates utility services locally and feeds electricity to the adjacent Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. International recognition stems largely from the upper luxury hotel, which featured prominently as the setting in the film Lost in Translation.
