New York, for me it is like the city of the entire world. It is huge, words just cannot describe how much. When I arrived there for the first time, I didn't even need time to blend into this city; it felt like I was born there. New York is definitely on my list of favorite cities. Many people like it, but some feel the opposite. When you walk around it, you involuntarily want to walk like you're in a music video. Sit at Starbucks on Fifth Avenue and discuss important business. And at night, ride the subway, listen to music, and not think about anyone. A city where you want to get lost. Being there, I thought about how great it would be to spend Christmas here. I can only imagine what the New Year's atmosphere is like here. While I'm young, I would like to live there, get lost in the hustle and bustle, party in clubs, and attend business meetings. And in my old age, move somewhere closer to the ocean. By the way, I have been to New York twice. And both times alone. But that didn't make my trip worse or boring, except that there was no one to take photos (just kidding). As a true fan of "Sex and the City," the first thing I did was go to Carrie Bradshaw's house; I walked all over Manhattan, but I found it! Yes, that staircase, just like in the movies, even that little street is so cozy. I'm leaving the address in case you are as much of a series fan as I am. 64 Perry Street I didn't have a specific route as such. I just went wherever my eyes took me, and you know, along the way I met all the famous places like the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, Wall Street, the 9/11 Memorial, and I even saw the Statue of Liberty from afar. In New York, I rented a room. There are many options for housing, but I recommend Airbnb: you download it, find accommodation, pay, and live. It's all very simple. There is an alternative, the well-known Booking.com; there are also many options, but not always affordable. The only thing is, choose your neighborhood carefully. Of course, Manhattan or Brooklyn would be best, but under no circumstances the Bronx. You understand, the city is huge, so there are many ghetto areas. Another option is Queens. Personally, I lived there; the neighborhood is not bad, it's just a bit far, but it is close to JFK airport. For me, it was convenient because I was flying out from there. In my memories, New York is over a million steps first and foremost, and then people with a crazy pace of life, homeless people on the sidewalks, street food, and a million tourists. But even despite all this, it's such a unique, such a beloved New York.

After a month, it was time for my first travels. My most desired city was NYC. That was exactly where I dreamed of celebrating my birthday. Round-trip bus tickets from Peter Pan cost $140. New York made an incredible impression on me. It is a city that charms you from the very first minutes. It mesmerizes with the scale of its buildings and structures, amazes with its frantic rhythm, the incredible flow of people, and the contrast expressed in the combination of luxury life with marginalized people sleeping on the streets and piles of trash. New York is a real concrete jungle. Central Park is probably one of the few places with greenery and trees. Overall, I was delighted with the city. Must-visit places in NYC (with addresses): *TIP FOR FUTURE PARTICIPANTS: to make it easier to navigate in unfamiliar places, download offline maps) Excursion “Panoramic view from the 86th floor of the Empire State Building” - $41 (20 W 34th St, New York) One-hour ferry tour to the Statue of Liberty - $30. One of the most affordable. Includes arrival at the destination, a minute stop, and return to the pier. National September 11 Memorial & Museum. A complex built on the site of the destroyed World Trade Center (180 Greenwich St, New York) Brooklyn Bridge (Brooklyn Bridge, New York, NY 10038) Central Park (Central park) Times Square (Manhattan, NY 10036) Manhattan District 5th Avenue (a street where boutiques of famous designers are located; a symbol of American prestige and luxury) Wall Street — financial center (Wall Street) Grand Central Terminal (89 E 42nd St, New York) Broadway. New York is very expensive. Seriously, a single meal costs as much as I spend in a week in Minsk. But coming here without money isn't a problem – you can survive, and quite well at that. ⠀ I've put together a small list of places where you can go and have a great time. ⠀ 1. High Line Park The park's unique feature is that it's built on former railway tracks 10 meters above the ground. So, it's not just a great opportunity to "rise" above the noisy bustle of New York streets, but also to enjoy an oasis of nature in the heart of the concrete jungle. ⠀ 2. American Museum of Natural History Even if you're not a fan of "Night at the Museum," it's still a must-visit. Why did I include this museum in the "budget tourist" list? Because there is no fixed price. Visitors can pay as much as they want for admission (though the suggested ticket price is $22). ⠀ 3. Botanical Gardens Admission to the garden is free on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to noon. Additionally, on Tuesdays, you can admire the gorgeous orchid collection at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for free. 4. Outdoor Cinema The most popular spot among movie buffs is Bryant Park, where mass screenings are held every Monday evening. Also, on Mondays, you can watch movies at Coney Island (right by the sea), on Tuesdays – on the roof of the Bronx Terminal Market, on Wednesdays – in Hudson River Park and McCarren Park, on Thursdays – at Brooklyn Bridge Park, and on Saturdays – on Roosevelt Island. ⠀ 5. Walking Tours You certainly can't walk all of New York, but you can thoroughly explore some of its neighborhoods by joining free tours led by enthusiasts. For example, every Friday at noon, there is a free tour of Times Square (meeting point – Times Square Visitors Center, between 47th and 46th streets). You can walk around the East Side on Sundays starting at 11:00 AM; the meeting point is at the corner of East Houston and Ludlow Street. A number of organizations conduct free tours of Harlem, Greenwich Village, Lower Manhattan, Central Park, and other notable areas, but you need to track the schedule of such events and register for them in advance. ⠀ 6. And I will finish with the irreplaceable square – Times Square I assume you'll hang out here for a long time. A gorgeous square with interesting things and popular shops like M&Ms, Disney, etc.

Each of us took turns checking what was happening outside the window—and it wasn't that we didn't know the weather, the time of day, or where our hotel was. It was just that the combination of yellow taxis, these 4 people on the 21st floor, a different time zone, and the Brooklyn Bridge nearby filled us with such wild excitement that we didn't want to wake up. -We're like in a movie! -Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing! -Look, there's an American flag waving on the building next door, and the crowds of people rushing below... -How cool is that! -Shall we have breakfast first? -Great idea, and then to Central Park! We all sometimes think we know everything about everything: for example, what America is like. Partially, we are all right about something. And those posters familiar to everyone's eyes, taken at The Top of the Rock with the famous Empire State Building in the center and skyscrapers reaching into the sky—all of this is so familiar to us, yet in reality, it is absolutely distant and unknown. It's like in the best atmospheric American movies. And when you take out your Polaroid to take that coveted photo of the high-rises around Central Park, or stand in Times Square, or accidentally catch a glimpse of a yellow school bus, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, and spot the small Statue of Liberty in the distance, you think it's impossible! It's some kind of mistake. Friend, how did you end up here? All yesterday's dreams suddenly come alive, and you feel this happiness, everything is so wonderful that you refuse to believe it, as if some invisible joy tax collector will notice that too much celebration has fallen on you and take it away. So you continue to walk in a foggy state, but even that passes... There is nothing more pleasant than when stereotypes crumble in your head, and you start looking at things with a completely new perspective. You could write another 5 pages of printed text about how you can't believe your eyes, or you could tell something very interesting and useful. Being super-romantic, we really want to choose the first, but we also love interesting things, so let's get started. You guys are funny, of course, claiming you know America if you've been to 2-3 states. The first and most important rule is: don't draw conclusions until you've traveled to all 50; let's count this as fact #1. And it's true, it's completely different to visit Maine in the north or go to Illinois and California. Each state is unique and distinct in its own way: for example, you might notice that there is significantly less Black population in the north, people in the south are more laid-back, and in different states, you sometimes even notice a difference in dialect. But that doesn't mean one place is worse or better; every spot is interesting in its own way, and you take something of your own from each. But quite a few Americans I've had the chance to talk to joked about certain states and listed them as their least favorites: Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, and some others. It can also be noted that quite a few native residents sometimes have never left their home state, or have only been to a couple of others. Flowing smoothly to fact #2, I want to say that the impression of America was largely formed by the people we met: from sudden strangers to people who later became our friends. The encounters were completely unpredictable: some would sit down when we were sitting with cups of coffee in the park, some would eagerly participate in choosing a salad dressing; we also immediately remembered the taxi driver who gave us a free ride from the airport to the hotel, and what about our incredibly caring employer...? The list is endless. You can say a lot about the people: yes, they are smiley, as we are used to hearing. It is absolutely normal to smile at a passerby. If

New York is an endless topic of conversation, a special world that, it seemed to me, lives by its own rules. It is also the most popular tourist city in the world. There are many places in New York that are a must-visit. But, unfortunately, I only managed to visit some of them. I will start, perhaps, with that tragic place known to the whole world – World Trade Center, where the Twin Towers once stood. Two fountains, symbolizing the tears and pain of the American people, serve as a reminder of those events. I think that anyone who has had the chance to visit New York will definitely visit this place. World Trade Center And how could I miss Lower Manhattan, Wall Street, and Times Square? Despite my limited time, I couldn't help but go there, and also take the opportunity to see the Statue of Liberty with my own eyes. The Brooklyn Bridge, all lit up, which connects two parts of the city – Brooklyn and Manhattan – left a huge impression. The narrow street of Wall Street led us to the huge bronze statue of a bull, which is the unofficial symbol of New York's Financial District and represents strength and assertiveness. Everyone strives to touch it for financial luck, which, of course, we did too)) Nighttime Brooklyn bridge Times Square is the most popular place in New York. A stunning sight – lights, advertisements, crowds of people, boutiques, theaters – Times Square combines all of this. I was amazed by the four-story M&M’s store with huge capsules of colorful M&M’s candies. I also really wanted to visit Central Park, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, but I didn't manage to… Well, that's a reason to return to New York and definitely see the rest with my own eyes ))) Times Square – pure madness M&M’s – that's what I love)
