Dedicated glass craft anchors international artists and researchers.

Corning Glass Works established this non-profit institution to study the history, art, and engineering of glass. The collection holds historic artifacts spanning millennia alongside contemporary design. Working artists use expanded studio facilities for both short projects and extended residency training programs.

Studio work demands meticulous preparation, and severe river flooding historically caused major damage to the institution's archive. Surviving paper records and delicate holdings required extensive chemical recovery and re-binding after floodwaters swept through the original complex.
