Residents settling near Nurulla Mosque adjust their daily schedule to the calls from the active minaret and live alongside a functioning congregation rather than an empty monument.
Merchant Ğ. M. Yunısov funded the construction of the complex using private donations, relying on a design by architect A. K. Loman. The building features a storied prayer hall crowned with a central cupola and a cylindrical minaret set directly over the southern portal. Exterior decorative motifs draw visual parallels with medieval Volga Bulgaria and Middle Eastern design.
Secular authorities dismantled the original minaret and converted the interior into municipal offices and residential apartments. The property eventually returned to the local Muslim community, adopting the name Nurullah as worship resumed. Architect R. W. Bilalov directed the subsequent restoration project that reconstructed the fallen tower, re-establishing the structure as an active parish house.
