Students crossing St. George campus handle administrative errands, medical appointments, and textbook purchases under one historic roof.
The building stands at the intersection of College Street and St. George Street on the main downtown campus. Commissioned originally as the central reference library for the city public system, the structure represented the largest Carnegie-funded library in the province. The municipal reference collection operated here until its relocation northward, leaving behind an ornate civic interior repurposed for campus life.
The University of Toronto acquired the facility and converted the reading halls into a central services hub. Renamed in honour of university benefactor Murray Koffler, the site concentrates several key daily operations under one roof. Long-term residents and enrolled students visit the complex to access the main bookstore, career development resources, and the campus health clinic for routine medical care.
