    Built as a major European championship stadium on the southern edge of Lviv, Arena Lviv anchors football matches alongside the Sykhiv residential massif.

    The stadium was constructed for the continental championship and hosted group tournament matches. Local football clubs FC Lviv and Rukh Lviv share the pitch for their domestic fixtures. Shakhtar Donetsk also adopted the arena for home competitions following displacement caused by the Russo-Ukrainian War. Major events fill the stands, but the facility remains quiet between scheduled athletic fixtures.

Transport connections remain road-dependent. Proposed tram expansions to the southern boundary stalled due to municipal budget deficits, while an experimental railbus connecting Sykhiv with the central railway station ceased operations after proving unprofitable.
