The central pyramid on the Giza plateau retains its original casing stones at the peak.

Unlike the neighboring tombs, this pyramid retains prominent sections of smooth limestone cladding across its highest levels. Excavations at the associated valley temple complex uncovered a preserved diorite statue of the ruler, confirming royal funerary rites across the adjacent lower causeway.

Giovanni Belzoni documented an open granite sarcophagus with a shattered lid inside the burial chamber alongside historic Arabic wall inscriptions.
