The Zoological Center Tel Aviv-Ramat Gan holds the largest wildlife collection in human care across the Middle East. Jointly owned by the municipalities of Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan, the institution merged open African habitats with an outdoor zoo designed to replace the cramped urban menagerie beside Tel Aviv City Hall. Advisors from Hanover Zoo and local landscape architects shaped large enclosures suited to the Mediterranean climate.
