The ground is the home venue of AC Sparta Prague and regularly stages home fixtures for the national football team. Originally built from timber, the arena was rebuilt with reinforced concrete following fire damage. Subsequent renovations removed the running track, converted the bowl to all-seated stands, and added undersoil pitch heating with infrared stand radiators.
